Porch & Deck Staining
new, by popular demand.
You kept asking — so we added it. While cleaning windows and washing decks across the West Shore, the same question came up on porch after porch: “do you stain too?” Now we do. Wash, prep, stain, and seal, done right before the Island rain gets into the wood. We run a small crew on this, so spots each season are limited.
Built for owners in this situation.
- Homeowners with a greying, weathered porch or deck that’s overdue.
- New-build owners whose builder-grade boards were never sealed.
- Anyone who got our window or washing visit and asked “do you stain too?”
- Owners who want it done before the wet season, not after.
Every part of the job, handled.
Wash & prep
The deck is washed clean of grime, moss, and old loose finish, then dried and prepped. Stain only holds as well as the prep under it.
Spot sanding
Rough boards, raised grain, and flaking patches sanded back so the new finish goes on even and stays on.
Stain & seal
Quality exterior stain applied evenly — boards, edges, and end grain — then sealed to stand up to Island winters.
Railings, steps & trim
The parts you touch and the parts you see from the street, finished to the same standard as the deck boards.
Weather-window scheduling
Stain needs dry days to cure. We schedule around the forecast and tell you honestly when the right window is — even if it means waiting a week.
Three steps, no surprises.
Send a photo
Text us a photo of the porch or deck. We quote by size and condition, and confirm colour and finish options with you.
Wash & prep day
Clean, dry, and prep — usually a separate visit so the wood is properly dry before any stain touches it.
Stain, seal & cure
Stain and seal in a dry-weather window, with clear guidance on when the deck is ready to walk on and load up again.
Custom Quote
Priced by deck size, wood condition, and finish. Quoted flat from a photo, usually the same day. Limited spots each season — first come, first served.

Added because you asked
This service exists because customers kept requesting it mid-visit. We built it properly — right prep, right products — instead of bolting it on.
Prep is the actual job
Most failed stain jobs fail at the prep. We wash, dry, and sand before anything opens a stain can — that’s why ours lasts.
Small crew, honest schedule
We’d rather do fewer decks well than many badly. If the season’s booked out, we tell you and hold your spot for the next window.

Questions about this service.
Why is this a limited service?
Staining is weather-dependent and prep-heavy, and we run a small dedicated crew on it rather than rushing it between window jobs. That caps how many decks we can do properly each season — when the calendar is full, we start a waitlist for the next dry window.
When is the best time to stain a deck in Victoria?
Late spring through early autumn, in a stretch of dry days. The wood needs to be dry through, not just on the surface, and the stain needs dry time to cure. We watch the forecast and schedule accordingly.
How long does a stain job last?
On a properly prepped deck, typically two to four years for horizontal surfaces (which take the weather) and longer for railings and verticals. Wood condition, sun exposure, and traffic all play a part — we’ll give you an honest read on yours.
Can you fix a deck that was stained badly before?
Usually, yes. Flaking or blotchy previous finishes need more prep — washing and sanding back to sound wood — before restaining. That’s reflected in the quote, and we’ll tell you up front if a deck is better served by a different finish type.
